Cousin Island

Cousin Island is 29 hectares and located about 2.5km from Praslin.

In 1968, it was bought by the International Council for Bird Preservation and made a nature reserve in order to protect the last remaining Seychelles warbler. It is now flourishing with wildlife and home to the largest number of endemic plants and animals in Seychelles.

The island is often used as a case study in research and universities for its exceptional environmental management.

Guided tours of the island are available and it’s  a popular attraction for tourists. The revenue brought in by these day visits are put directly back in to preserving the islands creatures.
