The Seychelles islands, a small dot on the map, is an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean. This group of islands lie between 4 and 10° south of the equator making its climate a warm, tropical one.

The Seychelles islands are between 480km and 1600km from the east coast of Africa and in total occupies an Exclusive Economic Zone of 1.4 million km². By contrast, the total land mass of the islands are only around 455km².

This tiny island nation has a population of around 98,900 and its inhabitants are a rich mixture of race, religion and ethnicity. These various, mixed backgrounds are what gives Seychelles its colourful and distinctive charm.

Although relatively small, this island paradise has a lot to offer, from beautiful scenery to the many endemic creatures that call the islands home. It is known to be one of the best locations in the world for diving and snorkelling, home to two UNESCO World Heritage sites and boasts award winning conservation achievements.
