Frégate Island

Frégate Island, the easternmost island of Seychelles, is a private island approximately 50km from Mahé. It’s about 2km² and features luxury five-star accommodation which has seen many celebrities over the years.

During the plantation era, intense cultivation of the island led to much destruction. This has slowly been revived over the years and it’s believed to be almost restored to its original state, prior to colonisation.

The island of Frégate is home to over 2000 giant tortoises as well as the endangered Hawksbill and Green turtles and more than 100 species of birds also call the island their home.
